TendTail keeps everything you log on your phone. There's no account to make and nothing to sign into. The only thing we collect is anonymous usage counts. Here's the whole story, in plain terms.

The short version

What the app stores, and where

When you add a cat or log a reading, TendTail saves it in a private database on your phone. That information stays on your device. It isn't synced to a cloud or backed up to us — so if you uninstall the app or reset your phone without your own backup, the data is gone.

Photos

If you add a photo of your cat, it's read from your device and kept with that cat's record on your device. Photos aren't uploaded anywhere.

Reminders and notifications

If you turn on reminders — for sub-Q fluids, medication, or weigh-ins — they're scheduled and shown by your own phone. We don't know whether you received one, opened it, or acted on it.

The vet export

When you create a vet-ready PDF, it's made on your device. What happens next is up to you: email it to your vet, save it, print it, or share it however you like. That sharing goes through your phone's own share options. We're not part of it and never receive a copy.

Anonymous usage counts

The app records that things happened — a day was logged, a vet report was exported, the Plus screen was shown — so we can see which features matter and improve them. These events carry a random ID that isn't linked to you, and they never include your cat's readings, notes, photos, or name. We use PostHog, an analytics service, to store these counts.

Purchases

If you buy TendTail Plus, Apple processes the payment. We use RevenueCat to confirm the purchase and unlock Plus on your device, under the same random ID. We never see your payment details.

Children

TendTail is made for adults caring for a cat. It isn't directed at children, and it doesn't knowingly collect information from anyone — child or adult.

Deleting your information

Because your data lives only on your device, you stay in control of it. Remove individual entries inside the app, or clear everything by uninstalling TendTail.

If this ever changes

If a future version of the app changes how it handles data — say we add an optional backup or sync feature — we'll update this page before that ships and explain clearly what's new and what's optional. The date at the top will change when it does.
